New State of  Art Thumb Butte Medical Center Opens in Prescott

It is hard to miss the beautiful wood and steel work of art that just opened this month at 3124 Willow Creek Road, adjacent the Willow Creek Auto Spa. It is Thumb Butte Medical Center, the passion and dream of a humble father and a loving son, Dr. Hojat Askari.

Thumb Butte Medical Center is a 12,000 sq. ft. state of the art facility constructed of structural steel, cedar siding and glass railing. The center provides many medical specialties including family medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, rheumatology, allergy, podiatry, and orthopedic surgery while employing over 35 medical professionals with 6 full-time and 4 part-time doctors. When you enter the facility, the beautiful architecture and open space pour over you, almost putting you in a trance as your eyes battle with your mind – “Is this a 5 star hotel, or a doctors office?”

Your trance will broken by a pair of Shitsu dogs that come to greet you – yes, they are part of the staff and they are also the quietest and cleanest dogs this three-dog owner has ever met. It is clear the dogs are a part of a well thought out vision; one that has been executed flawlessly.

An immigrant, Askari left his home when he was 26 and eventually finished his medical residency in Phoenix, AZ at Good Samaritan Hospital. Fast forward to nine years ago, Dr. Askari moved to Prescott and began operating outpatient clinics in Prescott, Prescott Valley and Cottonwood. Soon, Askari outgrew his 7,000 sq. ft. facility in Prescott and sought a new place to continue growing his practice.

In his search for the right property, Askari met JT Purvis who eventually helped him purchase a location for his new facility. “JT Purvis was so very helpful during the entire process. During that time, JT introduced me to JEBCO Construction Companies. Jeb and his foreman Robert were exceptional through the entire 1.5 year construction phase. Jeb’s wife Jamie was also amazing, helping with the interior design and materials selection. The entire company and family are exceptional. There was a lot of work and many late nights, the JEBCO Construction team really came through for me.” said Dr. Askari.

Now that the 12,000 sq. ft medical facility is complete, Dr. Askari will soon begin phase two of his dream; He will be building an urgent care facility and pharmacy across the street. The pharmacy will employ up to 4 professionals and the urgent care center will employ approximately 15 medical professionals and staff.

“It was my father’s dream to build clinics in order to serve people. This is his dream becoming a reality. It is also the American dream. But the American dream comes with a lot of hard, hard work and a lot of hours. I am so thankful to JEBCO and everyone else who helped in the process.” said Dr. Askari.

It has been a pleasure to build for Dr. Askari, what an opportunity to build such a beautiful building in Prescott. The architectural design and detail of this building made this an exciting project. Congratulations on his successful business practice and all the best with his upcoming endeavors. Dr. Askari is going to be a great asset to our community!” exclaimed Jeb Johnson, JEBCO Construction Companies.

“I want to say thank you to the City of Prescott and Yavapai Regional Medical Center for all their support. The City, hospital and JEBCO Construction Companies all helped to make this dream come true, create jobs, and enhance the care in the region,” stated Dr. Askari.
